Proxmox VE
Manage Proxmox VE clusters from FreeSDN: VM and container lifecycle, snapshots, storage, backups, HA groups, and SDN, across 12 feature domains.
Production tier: 12 hypervisor domains including VMs, CTs, cluster, HA, and SDN.
The Proxmox VE adapter manages Proxmox hypervisor clusters over the Proxmox REST API and powers the Compute and Hypervisor module. It spans 12 feature domains: VMs, containers, snapshots, storage, backups, cluster, HA, nodes, replication, SDN, Ceph, and firewall, with full guest lifecycle, snapshot management, and cluster operations.

Proxmox VE capabilities
Full guest lifecycle
Create, start, stop, console into, migrate, and delete VMs and containers, with snapshots and scheduled backups to Proxmox Backup Server or local storage.
Cluster, HA, and SDN
Manage cluster membership and quorum, HA groups, replication, and SDN zones, vnets, and subnets, so a whole Proxmox cluster is operable from FreeSDN.
Guarded guest-agent access
Guest-agent file read, write, and exec are available but gated to site-admin, keeping a powerful capability behind the right role.
- Connects over the Proxmox VE REST API (typically port 8006).
- Authenticates with an API token (preferred) or a username and password, stored encrypted.
- Add the credential, register the cluster, then run discovery.
